Tour 2007 Turkey & Greece.Leave PBCC Embassy on Monday June 18, 2007 and fly to Paris then onto Istanbul Turkey. Next drive to Thessaloniki Greece, Then onto Delphi, Then drive to Athens. On Thursday June 28, 2007 start to head back to Paris then Back to USA!

Tuesday July 28th

This morning the boys visited the Buenos Aires zoo. You can find zoo pictures in Peter Coniers's pictures. Some of the highlights of the zoo were the many variations of swimming rodents, the lions, the albino tigers, the hippos, the rhinos, the enormous peacock and the llamas and yaks. They also enjoyed riding the carousel.
The afternoon exchange with Coro Kennedy, a local girl's choir was cancelled due to fears of H1N1. We then decided that they forfeited the soccer game and called ourselves the winners.
The boys rehearsed that afternoon in the hotel conference room.
We went to Club Ferrocarril Oeste stadium to play soccer. Blue bus challenged Red bus and Red bus triumphed. Some of the men joined in, and suffered sore muscles for the next few days.
Dinner that night was at a local sports bar/restaurant where the boys had many different varieties of pizza, including one that was nothing but cheese and onions.

Thursday July 30th

|
Today we visited La Estacia de Santa Susana for a Fiesta Gaucha. The morning started with a gaucho show. The gauchos demonstrated horsemanship skills that included herding their horses and a contest where they grab small rings while riding at full speed. Following the gaucho show, each boy had a chance to ride a horse and go for a wagon ride. Then we had a wonderful asado lunch that included different varieties of salads and meats. The meats were filets, chicken, pork sausage and blood sausage. After lunch we were treated to a wonderful show of folkloric dances. After the dancers performed, the boys treated them to a short selection of songs that included their song in Spanish, Viene clareando.
We then boarded the busses for a 2 hour ride to La Plata. The boys rehearsed in the cathedral, ate a box dinner and then performed a concert that night. Two other choirs joined us that night - one from Atlanta, Georgia and the other from South Africa. While the cathedral was very beautiful and had tremendous acoustics, it was very cold!

Tuesday Aug 4th

Our last day in South America! Today we spent most of the day walking around Montevideo, sightseeing, and purchasing last minute gifts. Many of the boys visited the Museo del Gaucho, the pedestrian walkway and market in the city, the Mercado del Puerto and the Museo del Carnaval. After an early dinner, where we sang Happy Birthday to Will Connell, we headed to the Montevideo Airport. In front of the restaurant, we posed for pictures. As we were posing, people stopped their cars to watch and when they found out that the boys were a "coro" they asked them to sing.
